Gramflour Yogurt Stew (Majjiga Pulusu)

Ingredients:


2 cups yogurt -- (1 day old)

1 dash turmeric

1 pieces stem curry leaves

1 teaspoon chile powder

1 piece ginger

2 medium green chiles

1 teaspoon oil

1/2 teaspoon black mustard seeds

1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 dash asafetida

200 gram pumpkin -- (or any other vegetable)

1 tablespoon gram flour -- (besan)

1 teaspoon salt -- to taste
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Boil vegetables until firm and cooked. 2. Beat the yogurt. Mix the gram flour in it, without lumps. 3. Add turmeric, salt, chile powder, curry leaves and a cup of water to the yogurt. 4. Cook. Allow it to thicken, stirring it all the while, to stop it from boiling over. Simmer on low heat. Remove after it is well blended. 5. Fry mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asafetida. Season.
