Crockpot Refried Beans

Ingredients:


3 cups dried beans -- pinto black or small red

24 ounces salsa -- optional

1 teaspoon salt and pepper -- to taste (optional)
 

Preparation / Directions:


Soak beans overnight in 3 qts. water. In the morning, drain and place in 3 qt. crockpot. Cover with water by 2-3 inches, and cook, covered, on high for 6-8 hours, till beans are VERY soft and water is absorbed. If necessary, remove cover during last hour or two of cooking so excess water will cook off. Stir beans well, stir in salsa, if desired, and season to taste.
