Preparation / Directions:

For this recipe it is advisable to use the 4 or 5 quart model rinse and pick over the peas and add them to the crockpot (I throw mine in as is) add all other ingredients and enough water to cover all. DO NOT ADD SALT let cook on high for one or 2 hours then turn down to low. During the last 3 or so hours add the seasonings of your choice. I use Garlic, and a generous amount of Cavenders seasoning. I also use a bit of tobasco and msg. This recipe is better if cooked overnight. Just be sure to remember to turn the pot down after everyone has gone home from the party! {:o) I usually let mine cook at least 10 hours by this method. Add water as necessary, and that's about it! I usually fix onion corn bread with this meal. If anyone would like thsat recipe, please let me know. Enjoy all! P.S. This recipe can be adapted to any type of beans that you wish to co
