Beef Taco Filling

Ingredients:


2 pounds lean ground beef

2 medium onions -- finely chopped

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon leaf oregano

1 teaspoon paprika

2 teaspoons salt

1/3 cup taco sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 can pinto beans or green peas -- drained and pureed

1 package taco shells

1 medium shredded lettuce -- for accompaniment

1 medium diced avocado or guacamole -- for accompaniment

1 medium diced tomato -- for accompaniment

1 package shredded cheddar cheese -- for accompaniment

1 package sour cream -- for accompaniment
 

Preparation / Directions:


In large skillet, brown ground beef and onions; drain well. Place beef and onions in crock pot. Stir in remaining ingredients except taco shells and items for accompaniment. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours. Taste for seasoning. Fill taco shells with 2 tablespoons meat mixture, add shredded lettuce, guacamole, tomato, shredded cheese, top with a dollop of sour cream.
