Original Toll House Cookies

Ingredients:


2 1/4 cups flour -- sifted

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup butter or shortening -- softened

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar -- firmly packed

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon water

2 large eggs

1 package semisweet chocolate chips
 

Preparation / Directions:


Preheat oven to 375 Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt: set aside. Combine shortening, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and water: beat until creamy. Beat in eggs Add flour mixture:mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by well-rounded half teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes.
