Ingredients:


1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 large egg

1 cup vegetable oil

1 cup butter or margarine

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in a 1 tablespoon of sour milk

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 cup rolled oats

2/3 cup coconut or finely chopped nuts

1 cup crushed corn flakes

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 cups all purpose flour
 

Preparation / Directions:


Cream together the sugars and the egg. Mix in the oil, butter or margarine, baking soda dissolved in sour milk, and cream of tartar. Stir in vanilla, oatmeal, coconut or chopped nuts, corn flakes and flour. Make small balls and f latten them with a greased and flat bottom glass. Bake 325 degrees for about 12-15 minutes.
