Chocolate Date Pecan Sundae

Ingredients:

3/4 cup maple-flavored syrup
1/2 cup dates -- coarsely chopped
1/2 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup maraschino cherry halves
1/2 piece cinnamon stick
1/4 cup brandy
1 quart chocolate ice cream
 

Preparation / Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients except brandy and ice cream in saucepan; simmer 2 to 3 minutes. 2. Stir in brandy; cool 3. Serve over ice cream. NOTE: Substitute a butterscotch sauce for maple syrup, if desired.
