Caramels - Key Gourmet

Ingredients:


2 cups white sugar

1 cup white Karo syrup

1 can Pet milk -- (14 1/2 oz.)

1/2 cup butter

1 pound chopped nuts
 

Preparation / Directions:


Mix all ingredients except nuts. Cook over very low flame. It burns and curdles easily. Stir constantly until a hard ball is formed. To test, drop small amount into cold water until candy forms a hard ball. Place in buttered dish or pan after adding nuts and stirring. When cooled, cut in very small pieces and wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap.
