Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup crisco butter flavored shortening sticks |
1/2 cup cocoa |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup buttermilk |
2 large eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 teaspoons soda |
1 cup hot coffee |

Preparation / Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to cream mixture. Mix well.
Add coffee LAST. Grease and flour 3 layer cake pans and line bottoms with parchment paper. Pour mixture into the pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost with favorite chocolate frosting.
