Apple Roll

Ingredients:


1 1/2 cups sugar

2 cups flour

1 dash salt

2 tablespoons shortening

1/2 cup milk

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 tablespoons sugar

2 medium apples -- chopped

1 Cup additional sugar

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon
 

Preparation / Directions:


Mix together flour,salt,shortening, milk, baking powder and 2 tbls sugar. Roll dough an inch thick, spread with chopped apples. Roll up and cut into 1 1/2-inch slices. Combine sugar and 2 cups water in a pan and heat to boiling. Place rolls in baking pan of hot syrup. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and butter and bake in moderate oven until brown.
