Ingredients:


500 Grams flour

3 large eggs

200 Grams sugar

140 Grams lard (or olive oil or butter)

1 piece grated lemon rind

16 Grams baking powder

50 grams milk

---Icing:

200 Grams icing sugar

1 large egg white

1 package coloured sweets

Preparation / Directions:


Preheat oven at 190° C. (375 F) Sift flourwith baking powder. Add eggs, sugar, lemon rind and olive oil. Knead quickly and add milk to obtein a soft, but not sticky, dough. Cut in 'ropes' of 1 cm (1/2 inch) diameter and 40/50 cm. (17-18 inches) lenght. Fold each 'rope' in 2 parts, turn to obtein a sort of a plait, and close the 2 ends to get a ring-shaped biscuit. Bake for 25/30 minutes. Let cool completely. Icing: Beat egg white with icing sugar. Frost biscuits and sprinkle with coloured sweets. Keep in a fres
