Quick Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:


2 cups self-rising flour

1/3 cup shortening

1 cup buttermilk

2 cups self-rising flour

1/3 cup shortening

1 cup buttermilk
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine flour and shortening in a medium-size mixing bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in buttermilk. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly 3 or 4 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet, and bake at 450 F for 10 to 12 minutes.
