Ingredients:


2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup shortening

3/4 cup milk

Preparation / Directions:


Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir well. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle milk evenly over flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly 10 to 12 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut with a 2 3/4 inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 F for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
