Boneless Barbecue Beef Ribs

Ingredients:


4 pounds boneless beef ribs or beef brisket -- * see note

2 tablespoons cooking oil -- as needed

2 1/2 cups ketchup

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup worcestershire sauce

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup liquid smoke flavoring

1/4 cup instant coffee granules

2 tablespoons dry mustard

4 teaspoons celery seed

4 cloves garlic
 

Preparation / Directions:


In a large pot brown ribs, about a third at a time, in a small amount of cooking oil. Drain off excess fat. For barbecue sauce, in a large saucepan combine the ketchup, water, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke, instant coffee granules, dry mustard, celery seed and minced garlic; bring to boiling. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour half of the sauce over the ribs in pot. Cover and refrigerate remaining sauce to serve with ribs. Cover and bake ribs in 325F oven about 3 hours or until meat is very tender. Skim fat from sauce in pot. At serving time, warm remaining sauce and pass with ribs.
