Broiled Santa Fe Steaks

Ingredients:


1/2 cup thick-and-chunky salsa

1/2 cup black beans canned, rinsed and drained

2 tablespoons red onion finely chopped

2 tablespoons cilantro chopped fresh

1 tablespoons lime juice

1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder

2 teaspoons oregano leaves chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon dried

4 pieces New York strip steaks beef boneless(about 1 1/2 pounds)
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Mix salsa, beans, onion, cilantro, lime juice and 1/2 teaspoon of the chili powder. Cover and refrigerate while preparing steaks. 2. Set oven control to broil. Sprinkle remaining 1 teaspoon chili powder and the oregano over both sides of beef; gently press into beef. Place beef on rack in broiler pan. 3. Broil with tops 4 to 6 inches from heat 6 minutes; turn. Broil 2 to 5 minutes longer for medium doneness. Serve with salsa mixture.
