2 rib eye steaks -- 1 1/2 inches thick -- (8 to 12 oz.)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper -- divided

Preparation / Directions:

Sprinkle both sides of the steaks with garlic powder and slat; set aside. Saute onion in butter in a large skillet until crisp-tender. Remove onion and set aside. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp. pepper in the skillet; add steaks, and cook over medium heat 5 to 7 minutes. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 tsp. pepper over top of steaks; turn and continue cooking 5 to 7 minutes or until desired degree of doneness. Remove steaks to serving platter, and sprinkle with sauteed onion.
