Rice Krispies Divine Toffee Squares

Ingredients:


1/2 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup rice krispies -- (r) cereal,

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 dash salt

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/3 cup melted butter

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 1/2 cups rice krispies -- (r) cereal,
 

Preparation / Directions:


In mixing bowl, thoroughly combine first 6 ingredients. Press into greased 8 inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 Deg. F. about 10 minutes or until just starting to brown. In heavy saucepan, combine condensed milk, 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Over medium-low heat bring to full boil and boil 5 minutes stirring continuously. Remove from heat and pour over baked crust. Melt chocolate chips over low heat. Stir in remaining cereal until well coated; using two fork, spread over caramel layer. Chill several hours to set. Cut in squares.
