Guava Barbecie Sauce

Ingredients:


1 cup guava paste

6 tablespoons cider vinegar

1/4 cup dark rum

1/4 cup chile sauce -- (not Tabasco)

1/4 cup sour orange juice

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 teaspoons catsup

2 tablespoons crystallized ginger

2 tablespoons Maui onions -- minced

1 medium Thai chile -- seeded and minced

1 clove elephant garlic minced

4 tablespoons pick-a-peppa sauce

1/4 cup tomato-based barbecue sauce -- (like Kraft)

2 tablespoons peanut oil
 

Preparation / Directions:


Heat oil in heavy stock pot over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until transparent. Add chiles and cook for 2 minutes more. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sauce begins to thicken. Store in refrigerator.
