Hot Cranberry Punch

Ingredients:

  1           teaspoon  bag
  1                cup  boiling water
  1                cup  cranberry juice cocktail
  3               cups  apple cider or unsweetened apple juice
  1                     cinnamon stick -- cracked
  4                     whole         cloves
     1/4      teaspoon  ground allspice
  1              strip  orange peel -- 2" long & 1/2" wide
  4               thin  orange slices -- optional
  4                     cinnamon sticks -- optional
 

Preparation:

Place tea bag in a mug, add the boiling water and steep for 5 minutes. In a small saucepan (preferably nonmetallic) place cranberry juice cocktail, cider, cinnamon stick, colves, allspice and orange peel; bring to a boil over moderately high heat. Lower heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add tea, discarding tea bag. Strain punch into 4 mugs; garnish with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
