Preparation:

COMBINE WATER, ONIONS, PEPPERCORNS, ALLSPICE, LEMON JUICE, BAY LEAF, SALT, AND WINE IN A LARGE SKILLET OR SAUTE PAN, OVER A MODERATE FLAME BRING TO A BOIL, REDUCE HEAT, AND SIMMER FOR 20-30 MINUTES ADD FISH, COVER, AND SIMMER FOR 5-15 MINUTES, UNTIL TENDER (DEPENDING ON HOW THICK PORTIONS ARE) STRAIN WELL SERVE HOT
