Apple Custard Sauce

Ingredients:

   1      package       apple gelatin -- (3 ounces)
   1      cup           boiling water
   1 1/2  cups          half-and-half
   1                    egg
     1/4  cup           light corn syrup
   2      tablespoons   amaretto di amore
                        poached peaches and pears
 

Preparation:

Makes 2 3/4 cups 1. Stir apple gelatin into boiling water until dissolved. 2. Beat half-and-half, egg and corn syrup together until blended; gradually stir into gelatin mixture. 3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is slightly thickened. 4. Remove from heat; stir in Amaretto. 5. Chill sauce several hours, stirring occasionally. Serve over poached peaches and pears.
