Real Banana Pudding

Serves: 4
Rich creamy custard pudding that can be eaten without the bananas and wafers
 

Ingredients:

Pudding

1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks, beaten (save whites for merinque)
1 c. canned evaporated milk
1 c. water
4 T. flour

For Banana Pudding:

3 bananas    1/2  box Vanilla Wafers


This recipe can be doubled to make a larger pudding
 

Preparation:

Mix flour and sugar. Add egg yolks, milk and water. Cook until it bubbles and thickens (stir to keep it from sticking). Layer Bananas and vanilla wafers in a bowl and pour the hot pudding over them. Make sure all wafers and bananas are covered. For merinque, beat egg whites, adding a T. of sugar for merinque and put on top. Put in the oven and brown the merinque (under the broiler for a few minutes). Make sure the pudding is in an oven proof bowl if you plan to put a merinque on the top. This recipe can be doubled to make a larger pudding
