     3/4           cup  yellow cornmeal
     1/2           cup  flour
  2          teaspoons  baking powder
     1/3           cup  sugar
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
  1                     egg
     1/2           cup  milk
  1                cup  apple
  2          teaspoons  corn oil
                        corn oil
  1                cup  powdered sugar
 

Preparation:

combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt add egg-mix well add milk-mix well add 2 tablespoons oil-mix well add apples-mix well heat oil in a deep fryer or a dutch oven to 370 degrees drop batter by tablespoonsful into the hot oil and fry until golden on all sides remove to drain briefly on a cooling rack and blot with paper towels sprinkle with powdered sugar serve warm or at room temperature
