Keema Kari - Ground-Meat Curry

Ingredients:

   2      recipe        curry base from cooking with curry
   1      pound         ground beef or beef and pork
   1      pound         green peas
   2      tablespoons   grated ginger root
     1/4  cup           garlic -- minced
  12                    dried red chili peppers
   1      teaspoon      ground turmeric
   1      tablespoon    ground red pepper
   2 1/3  tablespoons   ground coriander
                        salt to taste
   1 2/3  quarts        water
   1      teaspoon      garam masala
 

Preparation:

Make Curry Base. Add grated garlic, ginger, and chili peppers to Base, and cook for a few seconds on low heat. Add spices (except Garam masala), ground meat and peas. Mix well. Add water and bring to boil. Cook on low for 45 minutes. Serve hot with chapati.
