Grandma Ruth's Creamy No-Cook Frosting

Ingredients:

  1                cup  unsweetened cocoa powder
     1/2           cup  softened butter
     1/2           cup  light corn syrup
     1/2      teaspoon  vanilla extract
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
     1/4           cup  warm water
  4               cups  sifted confectioners' sugar.
 

Preparation:

Combine cocoa, butter, corn syrup, vanilla and salt. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add warm water and half confectioners sugar and beat well. Add remaining confectioners sugar and beat until smooth. Spread on cooled cake. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
