Ghee's Oyster Loaf

Ingredients:

   2                    individual sub rolls -- split lengthwise
     1/2  stick         margarine or olive oil
   4      cloves        garlic
  24                    oysters [may use less depends on size
                        yellow cornmeal
                        oil for frying
 

Preparation:

Lay open rolls on boiler pan. Melt margarine. Press garlic through press into melted margarine and spread on rolls. Place rolls under broiler until toasted brown. Not very long!! Keep warm. Drain 1 doz. oysters /sandwich well. Season cornmeal with salt and pepper and drop oysters into mix. to coat thoroughly. Fry in a couple inches hot oil until well browned. Drain on paper towels for a few minutes Assemble sandwiches and serve with salad on the side.
