Ingredients:

   1      cup           semolina
   1 1/2  cups          water
   1                    carrot
   2                    ripe tomatoes
   3                    green chiles
   1      teaspoon      dry Bengal gram dal
   1      teaspoon      black mustard seeds
   4      tablespoons   oil
   1      sprig         curry leaves
                        salt -- to taste
 

Preparation:

1. Clean the semolina. Keep aside. Chop the tomatoes, carrot and green chiles. 2. Pour oil in the frying pan. Fry the gram dal and mustard seeds until they pop. add vegetables and green chiles. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring all the while. 3. Add water and salt. Add curry leaves. 4. When the water comes to a boil, add semolina slowly, stirring simultaneously, to avoid lumps. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir. Serve with chutney.
