Urulakazhangu Kaarakari (Spicy Potato Curry)

Ingredients:

   1      kilogram      potatoes -- boiled and mashed
   1      teaspoon      turmeric
   2      teaspoons     sambar powder
   1                    lemon -- juice of
   2      sprigs        curry leaves -- chopped
                        salt -- to taste
                        ***FOR SEASONING***
   2      teaspoons     black mustard seeds
   4      teaspoons     black gram dal
   2                    red chiles -- broken
   4      tablespoons   coconut oil
 

Preparation:

Heat oil and add mustard seeds, black gram dal and red chiles. When brown, add turmeric and curry leaves. Fry for a minute and add mashed potatoes, salt and sambar powder. Cook on a low fire until dry. Add lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
