Parsi Fried Rice

Ingredients:

   1      tablespoon    sugar
   3                    black cardamoms
   5                    cloves
   2      sticks        cinnamon
   5      whole         black peppercorns
   1      large         onion -- sliced
 100      grams         vanaspathi
 500      milliliters   water -- (3 1/3 cups)
                        salt -- to taste
   1 1/2  cups          Basmati rice
 

Preparation:

Brown sugar in cooker body. Add whole spices, sliced onions, vanaspati. Fry onions until golden brown. Add rice and fry for a few minutes. Add water and salt. Close lid and simmer until rice is cooked.
