Preparation:
Prepare the masala by putting all ingredients except the coconut in a pan and roast over low fire till they smell fragrant. Then grind to a powder after cooling. Add the coconut and grind to mix well. Heat oil and sauté onions until golden brown. Add the ginger, garlic and chile paste and cook for few minutes.
Then add the turmeric and coriander powder and sauté for a few minutes. Now add the meat and sauté till brown all over. Put in the masala paste and sauté for 15 minutes. Then add the tomatoes and salt. Add water and cook over low heat stirring from time to time until the meat is tender. Garnish with fried chiles and ginger and serve with white boiled rice.
