Ingredients:

                        maida -- (flour)
                        sugar
   4      teaspoons     chile powder
   3      teaspoons     salt
     1/2  teaspoon      asafetida
   1      teaspoon      turmeric powder
     1/2  teaspoon      mustard seeds
   1      teaspoon      oil
 

Preparation:

Mix plain flour (maida) with water (enough so that the mix is like dosa mix). You can add some sugar too it if you like. In another bowl, mix fresh grated coconut (you have to use the fresh one desicated/grated/shredded coconut is no good) with enough sugar (make it as sweet as you want.) Those who like the taste of salt or cardamom (or both) can add either or both to the coconut. Make round shaped dosas with the flour mix on a 'dosakallu' (or a sauté' pan), turn it around, and take it on a plate when done. Put a couple of spoonful of coconut mix into it (put it on one side, in a line), then roll it (like a 'churuttu'). There is your churuttu ready to eat (yummy too). Note: Those who have problems with fresh coconut, you can add a little bit of water in the sugar and boil it (on a low heat; dont overheat it or burn it), and then add the coconut into it and heat it for a while, and then use it.
