Green Gram Dosa (Pesarettu)

Ingredients:

   1      cup           peeled green gram dal -- broken
   1      teaspoon      cumin seeds
   3                    green chiles
   3                    red chiles
   4                    onions
   1      pinch         asafetida
   1      small   piec  ginger
   1      sprig         coriander leaves
                        salt -- to taste
 

Preparation:

1. Soak gram dal in water for 3 hours. Clean thoroughly. Strain out the water. 2. Grind with red chiles, 2 green chiles, cumin seeds and salt. 3. Chop onions, ginger, asafetida, coriander leaves and a green chile. Fry lightly. 4. Use the dough to make dosa. Fill the dosa with onion filling. Fold it.
