Satay Ayam (Chicken Satay)

Ingredients:

   3                    chicken breasts -- boneless, skinless
   2      teaspoons     black pepper
   2      pieces        garlic
   2 1/2  teaspoons     salt
   1      teaspoon      butter
   3      tablespoons   sweet soy sauce
                        ***SAUCE OF SATAY***
   2      tablespoons   crunchy peanut butter
   1      tablespoon    sugar
   4      tablespoons   sweet soy sauce
     1/2  cup           warm water
   1 1/2  teaspoons     salt
                        one lemon -- juice of
   2                    shallots -- thickly sliced
 

Preparation:

Mix all ingredients together; taste it. Cut chicken into pieces the size of 2 x 1/2-inch. Put four slices of meat on a skewer. Mix the spices together and roll the meat in them. Line a cookie sheet with foil and lay the skewers on it. Cover with foil, but leave the ends of the skewers out so they can be turned every minute for about 10 minutes at 350F or until done.
