Ingredients:

  2                     turnip
  1              small  rutabaga
  4                     new potatoes
  2             cloves  garlic -- minced
  2        tablespoons  butter or margarine -- cut up
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
     1/2      teaspoon  pepper
 

Preparation:

PEEL and thinly slice turnips and rutabaga; thinly slice potatoes. PLACE sliced veggies and garlic in center of 4 (12 inch) squares of heavy duty aluminum foil; dot with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Fold to seal. BAKE at 375 F. for 30 minutes or until tender. NOTE from submitter; I see many great variations with this recipe, such as new potatoes, thinly sliced carrots, thinly sliced onions, and chopped celery....seasoned with salt pepper and a bit of Parmesan cheese....I also think a Tablespoon of Cream Mushroom soup placed atop of each mound of veggie would be a nice addition.
