Grandms Ruth's Green Beans With Crispy Bacon

Ingredients:

  1 1/2         pounds  fresh green beans -- trimmed
  6       thick slices  bacon -- chopped
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
     1/8      teaspoon  black pepper
 

Preparation:

Cook the beans in a large pan of lightly salted boiling water for 4-6 minutes or until just tender. Drain. Fry the bacon in a skillet until crisp and golden. Drain on paper towels. Remove all but 1 teaspoon bacon drippings from the skillet. Add the beans, bacon, salt and pepper; mix well.
