Dilly Beans

Ingredients:

   1      pound         fresh green beans -- rinse/remove ends
   1      medium        onion -- sliced
   2      teaspoons     dried dill OR
   2      tablespoons   fresh dill
     1/2  cup           white vinegar
   1 1/2  cups          water
     3/4  teaspoon      salt
     1/4  cup           sugar
     1/2  teaspoon      mustard seed
 

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer until crisp tender, about 4 to 5 minutes. Cool and refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight. Drain before serving.
