Basic Apple Chutney

Ingredients:

  2                     pippin apple
     1/2                onion
     1/2                lemon
     1/4           cup  red bell pepper
  2          teaspoons  ginger
  1                cup  garlic
     1/3           cup  apple cider
     2/3           cup  brown sugar
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
 

Preparation:

mix first 6 ingredients in a pan over high heat. combine cider and brown sugar. add the apple mixture and salt. simmer till reduced to 2 cups. cool. serve with ham or curried dishes.
