Ingredients:

2 medium onions -- thinly sliced
2 1/2 pounds chicken -- cut up , (up to 3)
2 cloves garlic -- minced
1 pound can tomatoes
8 ounces can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon oregano leaves -- crushed , (up to 2)
1/2 teaspoon basil -- crushed
1/2 teaspoon celery seed (optional)
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup dry white wine |
Preparation:
Place sliced onions in bottom of crock pot. Add chicken pieces, minced garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, herbs and white wine. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours (High: 2-1/2 to 4 hours). Serve chicken pieces with sauce over hot buttered spaghetti, vermicelli or rice. |
