Cheap, Easy Oven Chicken

Ingredients:

  1                     fryer chicken -- cut up
  1           teaspoon  garlic powder
  1           teaspoon  oregano
  1           teaspoon  dried parsley
  1           teaspoon  tarragon
     1/2      teaspoon  poultry seasoning
     1/2      teaspoon  paprika
     1/4      teaspoon  black pepper
  2        tablespoons  margarine
 

Preparation:

Wash and arrange the chicken pieces in an oven-proof baking dish. Sprinkle with all spices. Cut margarine into 6 pieces. Arrange on top of the chicken. Bake covered in a 350 oven for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake an additional 10 minutes. Use margarine and drippings to make gravy. Or mix 1 cup of white wine with 2 tblsp of cornstarch; add to drippings and cook, stirring constantly until mixture begins to thicken and bubble. Add sauce to steamed broccoli or cauliflower and serve with chicken.
