Spicy Tomato Juice Cocktail

Ingredients:

   4      pounds        fresh tomatoes - 12 to 14
     1/2  cup           celery -- chopped
     1/4  cup           onion -- chopped
   2      tablespoons   lemon juice
   1 1/2  teaspoons     sugar
   1      teaspoon      salt
   1      teaspoon      prepared horseradish
   1      teaspoon      worcestershire sauce
     1/8  teaspoon      bottled hot pepper sauce
 

Preparation:

Wash tomatoes; remove stem ends and cores. Chop tomatoes. In slow-cooking pot, combine tomatoes, celery, and onions. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Press through food mill or sieve. Return juice to pot. Cook on high for 30 minutes. Add lemon juice, sugar, salt, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Cook on high for another 10 minutes. Chill.
