Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Season flour with salt and pepper. Coat steak
with
seasoned flour, pressing into both sides. Use edge of heavy saucer or meat
tenderizer to pound flour into steak.
Melt shortening in large, heavy,oven proof skillet or Dutch oven, Add steak
and brown
on both sides. Add cloves, onions, celery, water and barbecue sauce. Cover
tightly and bake for 2 to 3 hours, or until tender, checking every hour to
prevent
overcooking or drying out. Add more boiling water if necessary |
