Mom's Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

  2               cups  all-purpose flour
  3 1/2         ounces  cream cheese
     1/2           cup  unsalted butter
  1               dash  salt
                        -----filling--
  1                cup  sugar
  3                     eggs -- slightly beaten
     1/2      teaspoon  salt
     3/4           cup  dark corn syrup
  1                cup  pecan halves -- or more
 

Preparation:

Prepare pastry: Soften and blend butter and cream cheese. Work in flour and a dash of salt. (Can add a couple of drops COLD water if you need it to form dough.) Roll out dough and drape over pie pan; trim edges. Prepare filling: Mix sugar and eggs; cream till light and fluffy. Add rest of ingredients and blend well. Pour into shell and bake on lower shelf of a 375 degree F. oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
