Chocolate Butterscotch Pie

Ingredients:

     3/4  cup           light brown sugar -- packed
     1/3  cup           all-purpose flour
     1/2  teaspoon      salt
   2 1/2  cups          milk
   6      tablespoons   chocolate-flavored syrup
   2                    egg yolks -- well beaten
   2      tablespoons   butter
     1/2  teaspoon      pure vanilla extract
   1                    baked 9-inch pie shell
                        sweetened whipped cream -- (optional)
 

Preparation:

1. Combine sugar, flour and salt; stir in milk, chocolate syrup and beaten egg yolks. 2. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly. 3. Remove from heat; blend in butter and vanilla. 4. Pour into baked pie shell; cool. 5. Chill in refrigerator. Serve with sweetened whipped cream, if desired.
