Date And Cinnamon Cake

Ingredients:

  6             ounces  self raising flour
  1           teaspoon  baking powder
  1         tablespoon  ground cinnamon
  6             ounces  margarine
  6             ounces  light golden soft sugar
  3              large  eggs -- beaten
  1         tablespoon  treacle
  4             ounces  dried chopped dates
 

Preparation:

Pre heat the oven to 180C. Lightly oil a 2lb loaf tin. Sift the flour, baking powder and cinnamon into a bowl. Put the margarine and sugar in a food processor, whizz until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and treacle, whizz again for a few seconds. Add the sifted dry ingredients and whizz again. Add the dates and pulse for a few seconds until just combined. Spoon into tin. Smooth the surface and cook for 45 minutes - 1 hour or until a skewer when inserted comes out clean.
