One Pot Steak And Pasta Simmer

Ingredients:

  1         tablespoon  vegetable oil
  1              pound  top sirloin -- in thin strips
  3               cups  mushrooms -- sliced
  2             cloves  garlic -- minced
  1                     onion -- chopped
  1 1/2      teaspoons  italian herb seasoning
     1/2      teaspoon  pepper
     1/2      teaspoon  sugar
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
  3               cups  pasta sauce
  3               cups  small pasta shells
 

Preparation:

1. In a large pot heat oil over medium high heat; brown beef in batches about 5 minutes. 2. Reduce heat to medium; add mushrooms, onion, garlic, herb seasoning, pepper, sugar and salt. Cook stirring for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are softened. 3. Add pasta sauce and 2 cups water, bring to a boil. Stir in pasta, reduce heat, cover and simmer stirring often for about 15 minutes or until pasta is tender but firm.
