Nut Fudge

Ingredients:

  2 1/4           cups  sugar
     1/4           cup  butter
  1                cup  evaporated milk
  1            package  chocolate morsels -- (6 oz.)
  16             large  marshmallows
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
  1           teaspoon  vanilla
  1                cup  broken nuts
 

Preparation:

In heavy 2 quart saucepan, mix sugar, butter, marshmallows, salt and milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and is bubbly all over top. Boil and stir over medium heat 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and morsels until morsels have melted. Stir in nuts. Spread mixture in buttered 8-9 inch square pan. Press nut halves on top (optional). Refrigerate. Cut into 30 pieces.
