Oysters A La King

Ingredients:

  1               pint  oysters
  2 1/2           cups  milk and oyster liquid
     1/2         pound  mushrooms -- sliced
  4        tablespoons  butter
  4        tablespoons  flour
     1/2           cup  chopped green pepper
  2        tablespoons  minced pimiento
  1 1/2      teaspoons  salt
     1/8      teaspoon  pepper
  1               dash  nutmeg
                        buttered toast
 

Preparation:

Simmer oysters in their own liquid for 5 minutes. Drain thoroughly, reserve liquid. To this liquid add enough milk to make 2 1/2 cups. Saute mushrooms in butter for 5 minutes. Stir in flour, then add remaining ingredients, except oysters and toast. Simmer until thick. Add oysters, Serve on toast.
