Ingredients:

  2       pound         fresh lean beef or venison
  1       pound         suet
  5       pound         apples
  1       pound         seeded raisins
  2       pound         currants
     3/4  pound         citron
     1/2  Teaspoon      cinnamon
  1                     grated nutmeg
  2       Tablespoon    mace
  1       Teaspoon      ground cloves
  1       Tablespoon    allspice
  1       Tablespoon    fine salt
  2 1/2   pound         brown sugar
  1       quart         cherry or boiled cider
  1       pint          grape juice
 

Preparation:

Boil meat and cool. Chop meat, suet and apples fine. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and let stand 24 hours before using.
