Summer Fruit Melange

Ingredients:

   1      cup           brandy
   1      cup           strawberries -- halved if large
   1      cup           fresh pineapple chunks
   1      cup           dark sweet cherries -- pitted
   1      cup           currants
   1      cup           raspberries
   1      cup           apricots -- peeled and pitted
   6      cups          sugar
 

Preparation:

1. Place brandy in large crock or 3-quart glass jar; add 1 cup fruit and 1 cup sugar as each fruit comes into season. 2. Stir occasionally to dissolve sugar, but do not crush fruit 3. Store in cool place, not above 450 F. 4. When all sugar is dissolved, secure lid. Fruit will keep several months (refrigerate if desired). 5. If desired, add 1 cup raisins but no sugar.
