Ingredients:

  1                cup  brown sugar
     1/2           cup  (1 stick butter -- melted and cooled
  1                     egg
  1           teaspoon  vanilla extract
     1/2           cup  chopped walnuts
  1                can  crushed pineapple -- (8 1/4 ounce) well
                        drained-save half of liquid for
                        frosting
  2               cups  all-purpose flour
     1/4      teaspoon  salt
  1           teaspoon  soda
                        Pineapple Frosting
 

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, cooled melted butter, egg, vanilla and walnuts. Add drained pineapple. Combine flour, salt and soda and beat into pineapple mixture. Drop by teaspoonsful onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes in preheated 350-degree oven. Frost cookies; top each with candied cherry.
